Alison Wonderland – "U Don't Know" (Slander Remix) [Free Download]

June 16, 2015 -

Milli Encarnacion

I caught Alison Wonderland at Webster Hall last month, where she jumped and headbanged and frolicked around the venue's wide stage for two glorious hours of trap and future bass. All that turbulence was not in vain: her brand of dance music is unapologetically climactic, a carefully brewed stew of 808s, bass drums, and clever samples. And she looks damn good in her Sporty Spice-themed wardrobe, often consisting of Discount Universe and Adidas Originals.

The original track, "U Don't Know," is a mid-tempo break from Alison's debut album, RunWayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips (who is hilariously dubbed over by McLovin'/Christopher Mintz-Plasse in the official music video) joins Alison in singing this anger-fueled track. You would think a song couldn't make you feel any more vengeful than this one does. (Remember that time you wanted to throw a cell phone at your ex?) The original track already bleeds through you like a bad memory, and then Slander comes around.

Slander mixes Alison's genius production with his own, and the result is as delightful as tossing your ex's belongings out of your second-story apartment window. He speeds up the tempo a little, and when the bass first drops, you'll imagine your ex's Xbox being smashed on concrete. What's another word for "beautiful"?
