Las Vegas-based producer and DJ 3LAU, currently promoting his debut album Ultraviolet, brought his North America-spanning tour to the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on Friday, Mar. 2, 2018, for a show that he made clear was personally very special.

Near the end of the show, 3LAU, born Just Blau, announced to the crowd that years before he had flown to SF to watch a show at the Regency. To take the same stage at this point in his rising career emplored the young artist and he channeled his energy into an intense, house-bouncing performance with truly spectacular visuals.

With a heavy influence stemming from his house roots, this show was high-paced and bright with all the makings of a wild Vegas-club party.

Spreading singles from the album throughout the set along with one fresh single and various samples and remixes of fellow DJ-producers Porter Robinson, OOKAY, and San Holo among others, as well as various other acts like MGMT and the Killers. Not one let down in this setlist.

At one point, he gave the crowd a warning that things were heading in a darker direction for a bit.

"Shit's about to get really fucking weird, I hope that's ok," he said, before laying into a short but pointed trap-laced segment.

The path 3LAU weaves with his house-based style intertwined with the more dance-pop and future bass singles off the album is incredibly calculated, leaving fans constantly waiting for more.

Blau finished the set admitting that he was astonished by the fans' knowing every word to every song on the two-week-old album and by filming a video to help support Fuck Cancer. All of the profit from Ultraviolet sales and streams will be donated to the cancer support organization.

"This city has always supported me and I will always fucking support you guys," 3LAU screamed in the final moments.

The young star clearly has a bright future ahead of him and his ability to shine as a human even brighter than he can as an artist and entertainer is truly inspiring.
