For many of us, the songs we listen to speak the words that we didn't know we wanted to say in the form of lyrics. Dance music is a way of life, and the songs we listen to give us food for thought about how to go about our daily routine. Not all songs have lyrics, and not all songs have meaningful lyrics, (I'm looking at Tiesto's "Wasted" with this one) but when we encounter that one song with amazing lyrics, it hits us right in the feels. Here are some of the best EDM lyrics to live by:

This might be one of the most overplayed songs, but this quote still gets me every single time. I think a lot of people in our community feel like they don't know who they are supposed to be, or what they should be doing in life. This lyric reassures you that it's okay to not know your next move in life, and not to let the future scare you.

"You'll never live if you're just too scared to die" -Hardwell & Dyro

This one is powerful. It tells you that sometimes you're going to have to take risks in life in order to experience some things. You might miss out on an amazing experience because of fear of risk, fear of rejection, or fear of failure. Take those risks. You might regret it one day if you're always holding on to that thought of "What if...?"

"Yesterday is History, Today is a Gift, Tomorrow is Mystery" - Tomorrowland

This one isn't a lyric, but it's very relevant. This quote tells us to accept that the only thing you cannot control in your life is the inevitable passing of time. You cannot change what happened in the past. Cherish the present and don't lose sight of what's going on in your life right now. And be open to the possibilities of what may happen in the future.

 

"Don't forget about a thing called love" -Above & Beyond

Sometimes we get so caught up in the negative things that happen in our life that we forget to show compassion for others. Love is the strongest emotion of all. Sometimes, showing a little love, or even just a smile towards someone can make their day. The greatest asset in your life is the people you surround yourself with, make sure you show that you appreciate them.

 

"Don't be fooled by your emptiness, there's so much more room for happiness" -Kaskade

This one is my personal favorite, and probably the most tattooed lyric in dance music. This lyric sums up the previous four that I listed. Don't let sadness or failure in your life rule over you. You have so many things to be thankful and happy about. You life is what you make it to be, it can be as happy as you choose it to be.
