Rutherford House - Vol. 13

January 9, 2014 -

Rutherford House

After a busy last few months and a lack of posting on the Rutherford House side of Daily Beat, we are back with a huge package packed full of Drum and Bass, Bass House, Deep House and Trance. Enjoy

One of the classic liquid Drum and Bass tracks from Welsh legend High Contrast. Beginning with soothing vocals and lush piano keys, the track transforms into an upbeat and flowing 5 minutes of music genius. Enjoy

Massive tune here! West Midlands based duo Nu Era released 'With Me' over 2 months ago, before recently being signed onto four40records. This filthy bass banger is no nonsense and proves that there is plenty more to come from these two.

Released back in 1991, this track written and produced by Kenny Larkin and remixed by the legendary Richie Hawtin is a tech house monster.

Perhaps one of our favourite songs from the past year has been DVWLX's electric track 'Not Another Love Song' which never fails to disappoint. The Manchester based prodigy is back at it again with four recent releases on stalwarts Black Butter Records. The pick of the tracks in our opinion is 'All You Know' which features a crunching bassline and an upbeat driving section of kicks. Another big tune from DVWLX, but make sure you also check out 'Hold' a more chilled out and infectious track.

Deeper tune from saints and sonnets night at Brixxton Jamm

Hunter/Game - Distant Strom - Christian Prommer Remix -Played in Sasha's warehouse project 2013 1hr set, 2 track in.....Quality mix give it a listen.

Nice bouncey/ funky house tune by Fulbert - From "Hannam Bridge EP" out soon on Foul & Sunk...

RS4 & Prety Casual - RS4 big contributor for Audio Rehab, Doing big night at Ministry of sound Saturday 1st Febuary

This tracks already hit the blogosphere with a big impact, and is currently ranking 7th in the Beatport top 10; the newest in the line of less commercial sounding house to refreshingly break the mainstream. Hot Since 82 has said in interview that we are starting to reach a point where the initial wave of formulaic EDM is starting to dwindle as listeners dive deeper to discover the true wealth of dance music, and with tracks like this giving an example of this, i definitely don't have any complaints!

13th December 2013 hosted trance legends Chicane and Richard Durand - one of our picks from the night.

This cheeky tech/psy trance banger won't be released until February but it was too irresistible to not share! Featuring a big break down full of old school rave synths, the track builds towards the climax before a disturbing call of 'mother'. Next ensues psy madness that has me yearning for the release!

I posted this huge trancer on new years eve but it still hasn't left the top of my playlists so here it is again. Huge stabs, driving bass line and unparalleled  energy, not one to skip on!
