In November of 2016, Mahalo played the first ever Understated, taking place in Downtown Los Angeles. After a year of successful releases with the likes of Bunny Tiger, Toolroom Records, Enormous Tunes, Insomniac Records, Perfect Havoc, and Armada Music, last week Mahalo went straight from a performance at Nocturnal Wonderland, into a performance for the first ever Understated Recordings showcase one week later. Fitting right in with the theme of his signature “Liquid House”,
’The Drip’ celebrates Mahalo’s official return to the LA underground sound and scene via the Understated Recordings imprint for the label’s third release.
Loungey, chilled out pads introduce a deep groove that gradually becomes loaded with trippy chord stabs and unexpected drum fills. In essence, ‘The Drip’ mirrors a night out that turns out just a little wilder than expected. Here’s what Mahalo has to say about his new track:
The Drip is a little number I made after hitting some warehouse parties in LA. I’ve always loved that scene and the style of music you hear out at places like those and so this is an embodiment of my sound laced with the underground vibes.

Understated Recordings is the record label managed and A&Red by team, focusing on showcasing local LA-based electronic music talents producing house, techno, and everything in between.
