‘Marry You On The Dancefloor’ comes at us as a surprise seeing as Christofi’s previous releases centered around deep house club tracks. The dance energy stays alive through this new one but now its in the context of nu-disco and it feels as powerful as ever.
Although the grooving relationship between the funky bassline and the punchy drums drive home the energy of this track, we can’t deny that these are some of the most infectious vocal hooks we’ve heard in awhile. The cheeky lyricism of love, commitment, and the bouncer being a pastor creates a genuinely fun attitude. Production wise it feels like there is not an overbearing amount of layers like we’re used to in EDM, rather the elements of live instruments fill up just the right amount of space to energize the beat while accompanying the vocal leads and backups. This track sounds like something that would come out of a Chromeo and Daft Punk collaboration and we wouldn’t be surprised if it exposed both Christofi and FEiN to a much bigger audience seeing as it hits at just the right levels of pop and dance music.
