Jamie Jones - Planets, Spaceships EP

November 8, 2013 -

Oscar Hoyle

Founder of pioneering label Hot Creations and widely regarded as one of the most innovative house and techno producers of recent times, the Welsh born Jamie Jones is back at it again with this groovy four track EP. As well as a member of house giants Hot Natured, the London educated star is one of Ibiza's favourites, with consistent performances there this year, as well as headlining The Warehouse Project in Manchester and Hideout Festival in Croatia. Starting off with my favourite song of the EP "Planets, Spaceships" Jones takes the listener on a groovy melodic journey, with eerie vocals from Digitaria and glitchy heavy bass kicks. " Cookie Monster " showcases the darker side of Jones' new sound with uplifting and driving claps throughout. The final two tracks are full of the Welshmens famous melody and drive, with "Stick" featuring minimalistic inspirations. Overall, a solid EP from one of electronic music's greats. Enjoy
