Giraffage & Slow Magic Get Cute At The Fonda

Last week we had the opportunity of coming out to witness an epic night of innovative electronic music at The Fonda brought to us by no other than Lindsay Lowend, Slow Magic, and Giraffage. Having successfully played a number of shows on the east coast, the trio headed out to California to complete the final stretch of their So Cute tour at The Fonda.

Lindsay Lowend set the energy level right away, dropping a face melting set with some of the weirdest, most interesting bass music that you can ever experience. After catching him at Lightening in a Bottle, I was very curious as to how Lindsay Lowend would perform in this much more compact and up close setting. He performed with just as much energy if not more than at LIB but also feeding off of the crowd's energy much more

Slow Magic took the night on a completely different route, bringing out his signature drum and putting on an epic performance that put the entire crowd on the same vibe. Slow Magic isn't your typical electronic music set, being much more dramatic and involved with the audience than most acts you can catch. The intimate setting was perfect for this performance and the atmosphere that Slow Magic created led perfectly into the main act of the night.

Giraffage then took the stage with his signature cutesy, 8 bit video game influenced sounds that flooded the crowd with nostalgia. Giraffage took us on an almost unpredicatable journey throughout his set, going from his trap bangers to slow tracks that had the most epic and vibrant chords that filled you with love and energy. While Giraffage may bounce around genres quite frequently, his style stays consistent across the board maintaining the warm yet playful sound that he is so well known for. As if having Slow Magic and Giraffage perform one after another was not enough, Giraffage brought out Slow Magic at the end for a duo encore that was everything that you could have asked for from a back to back performance with the two. Slow Magic's live instruments combined with Giraffage's exciting beats made for an amazing fusion of a set and was the perfect way for the two to showcase their latest collaboration So Cute!
