Beats & Pieces Vol. XV

January 22, 2016 -

Fadi AbuZaineh

It's that time of the week again, folks! Welcome to our 15th volume of Beats & Pieces, curated by Your Main Arab. No need for an explanation at this point, so here are five tracks that have been circling through my ears recently that I think anybody could enjoy!

1. THEY. - Bad Habits (esta Remix)

I just don't know how esta does it, man. From cranking out masterpiece after masterpiece to getting these stunning women's selfies to use as his track artwork, he has surely proved he is a worthy artist. As a fan of Soulection, I would rank esta as one of my favorite artists to come out of that collective. Keep your eye on this cat, he's only going to get bigger and bigger.

2. Boys Noize & Erol Alkan "Lemonade" (Gesaffelstein Remix - Boys Noize Edit)

You might want to tighten up your belts a couple of notches, because this remix/edit of Lemonade is a doozy. If you have already heard of Gesaffelstein then you already know what to expect from his work. Dark, intense, and daunting are the first three words that come to mind for me. Boys Noize just put this out a few days ago and it turned 4 minutes and 40 seconds of my commute into an absolute mindfuck. The best part is that it is f-r-e-e (that spells free) so get on this ASAP!

3. RÜFÜS DU SOL - Say A Prayer For Me

I have already given this song its own very well deserved post, but it is just so good that I had to mention it again for B&P. RÜFÜS has been on the forefront of live electronic music for the past few years, and their music is nothing short of beautiful. This song is a single from their album which is now released on Odesza's Foreign Family Collective entitled 'Bloom.' Check this track out and if you love it, take the plunge and support the band by getting their album. You can also check these guys out live since they'll be touring this year!

4. Chris Lorenzo & Chris Lake - The Calling

It's two Chris's colliding here for this monster collab. These two have come out with one of the most forward thinking tunes in the house genre. What The Calling brings to your ears is the mix of dark synths and an alluring beat, making you want to move and or bob your head. I first heard this song as an ID during Amine Edge & Dance's EDC Las Vegas set, and was stoked to see it was from none other than Chris Lake AND Chris Lorenzo. Great job, gentlemen.

5. Justin Martin & Ardalan Ft. PartyPatty - Function

I'm taking it a bit into the past with this last tune, but it's still awesome. Dirtybird never ceases to amaze me with their consistent releases of quirky, fun, and hypnotic tech house. Justin Martin and Ardalan continue to blow minds and make rumps shake with their music, and I highly recommend you check out one of their shows! A little house music never hurt anyone.

Thanks for checking out my taste in music yet again, folks. See you all in next week's post!
