Beats & Pieces Vol. III

Welcome back to the third edition of Daily Beat's BEATS AND PIECES; curated by yours truly, Spacey Beans. Each week a different Daily Beat member presents our top five tracks of the week. This installment is just a small glimpse of my personal taste, songs I've been jamming to recently. A quite eclectic combination of tunes, hope you enjoy!

1. Kill Frenzy - H.O.U.S.E.

Although this is just a preview, I thought I'd include this snippet of a jam. Kill Frenzy happens to be my favorite Dirtybird players. No Panties, Gorilla, All Night Long, Booty Clap, Naked Piano; this guy never fails to deliver with his signature style. According to the Dirtybird master himself, Claude Vonstroke, Kill Frenzy is the type of producer sickly obsessed with self improvement, submitting handfuls of tracks to him on a daily basis. His talent is definitely crystal clear. In the traditional Kill Frenzy manner, the song is heavy, sexy, and the type of beat that you can't help but bounce to. You can be sure you'll be hearing this track blasting through this summer's Dirtybird BBQs!

2. Mura Masa - Firefly (ft. Nao)

First heard this song on ODESZA's NO.SLEEP Mix 9, and have been bumping it ever since. It's sensual melodic beat is the perfect summer jam. Reminiscent of chilling in the sunshine, getting down slow in the club, or turning up rooftop style, it has a feel good rhythm that you can't help but smile when you hear it.

3. Sonny Fodera - We Work It

This next track was not released extremely recently, but I decided to feature it as a half throwback half maybe you haven't heard it  yet. I first discovered this song three weeks ago when Mikey Lion dropped it at a Desert Hearts warehouse party. Called "We Work It" by Sonny Fodera, the enticing lyrics and deep techno vibe threw the crowd absolutely mad. I haven't stopped listening to it since.

4. RL Grime - Core (Great Dane Remix)

I love me some RL Grime hardbody, and his latest VOID album blew just about everyone out of the water. He recently released a slew of remixes of his original edits, this one is one of my favorites. With the impending Core melody in the background, this track is the perfect song to get your twerk on, trap out, ELBOWS UP.

5. Deadmau5 - Beneath With Me

Mau5 released this mellow, euphoric track 18 days ago on his Soundcloud. With just a vague title and 1:44 seconds, fans were excited to see some new music, but for the most part kept in the dark. In typical Joel Zimmerman fashion, he purposely left out that this was actually a collaboration with KASKADE featuring SKYLAR GREY. When this comes to light, the caliber of this song gains much deeper brevity. Although it's just a preview, it's easy to get lost in its heavenly yet ominous melody. It's not quite I Remember 2.0, yet; when the full track is released we'll be able to decide for ourselves.
